My dad gave me On the Road when I was 13. I read it devouringly. Since then, I’ve crafted a voice and writing style driven by rhythm and wildness and cinematic poise.

While in grad school, I worked as a freelance journalist. My writing has been published in such publications as Dallas Observer, Artist Uprising and Mayborn Magazine. Last fall, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Journalism from The Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas. I successfully defended my thesis, which uses a qualitative agenda-setting approach to examine the real-world impact of comedic journalism, with focus on John Oliver. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of St. Thomas in Literature w/an emphasis in Writing and Philosophy. For my thesis, I wrote a novella.
